Public vote for 2018 charity of the year
11 December 2017 – Online voting has now opened for the public to choose which local charity will become Red Funnel's Charity of the Year 2018.
Red Funnel's staff have already had their say and shortlisted 3 worthy contenders from the 22 charities that applied. The public now have until 20th December to visit www.redfunnel.co.uk/coty and cast their vote for the charity they would like to see Red Funnel support next year.
The three shortlisted charities are: -
- Challenge & Adventure - Using adventurous outdoor activities to engage with and build the confidence of disadvantaged young people.
- Earl Mountbatten Hospice - Providing expert medical care, end of life care and support services on the Island.
- Isle of Wight Donkey Sanctuary - Providing homes for rescued, unwanted and abandoned donkeys.

Thanks to the support and generosity of customers, Red Funnel is on track to raise £50,000 for its 2017 Charity of the Year, Hampshire & IoW Air Ambulance. The charity exists to bring immediate, lifesaving critical care to patients when they need it most. Red Funnel also sponsored the charity's "999 Heroes" program in 2017 which teaches young children how to phone the emergency services when someone is hurt or needs help.
