New activity breaks and holidays for 2003
20-11-2002 You’ve bungee jumped in Queenstown in New Zealand, sky dived in Australia and white water rafted in Zimbabwe. Now it’s time to take on the ultimate challenge – a short break to the Isle of Wight with Red Funnel’s new ‘Activity Island’ programme for 2003. Prices start from £56 per person for a two-night visit.
Following the success of the ‘learn to sail’ and walking holidays introduced by Red Funnel in 2002, the original Isle of Wight ferry operator has launched a new collection of activity breaks for 2003.
Launched by Olympic Gold Medallist, Shirley Robertson, Red Funnel’s ‘awesome foursome’ includes learn to kite-surf courses, power-boating tuition, kayaking and mountain biking trips taking in the best of the Island’s 200 miles of cycle track and 57 miles of coastline. Visitors to the Island can also test their nerve by paragliding off cliffs in West Wight.
Red Funnel can even arrange helicopter flights over the Island to give visitors an aerial view of the stunning coastal scenery below.
Red Funnel’s marketing director, Olive Glass, says:
“The Isle of Wight is an excellent place to enjoy the great British outdoors and to try out the adrenalin sports that are becoming increasingly popular amongst holiday makers. The new programme allows for much more flexibility with bookings and the new tailor-made holidays offer customers a greater choice of accommodation and experiences. It is great to have Shirley launching the new brochure and we hope people will be inspired by her sporting successes to try out one of the Island’s activities for themselves.”
